Here’s further awesome proof that cosplay is for everyone! Brazilian cosplayer Solange, aka Tia sol (“Aunty Sun”) has won the heart of the internet with her wonderfully accurate homemade costumes and convention appearances around her home city of Manaus, Brazil.
“A friend said that I wouldn’t have the guts,” Solange told BuzzFeed News. “I chose a character and had the costume made without saying another word.”
“I don’t miss a single event in my city. I’d really like to visit other ones, but have you seen the price of the fares?”
“I never thought that I would be well received among the young people, I’ve made a lot of friends during all of this.” Cosplay conventions have become a sort of a haven for Solange: “I can launch myself into the world of make-believe, where anything goes.” Her next event is coming up in December. “I’m finishing up the painting on my new cosplay, Granny Juju from Jorel’s Brother.”
Excerpts from Hayao Miyazaki’s Daydream Notes (aka Daydream Data Notes). Miyazaki had a regular feature in Japanese hobby magazine Model Graphix where he’d make various short comics and illustrated essays on vintage aircrafts, tanks and boats. It was also where he published the short comic “The Age of the Flying Boat”, which he later reworked into his film Porco Rosso.

For me, cinema is an ideal. A platform where I can convey myself in a way which Ifind most natural - through not one, but various artistic means. In that respect, Chaplin and Eastwood are my childhood heroes. Like these role models, I aspire to make my very own film.
There is not a week that goes by without a beloved classic or latest Oscar hit. Cinema has become an intrinsic part of my life. Now it is my turn to share my story with you. From the films I adore to those I've been fortunate to be a part of, it is my hope that my direction of ‘Cinema Music’ will be an experience for you.

So many tales behind each song.. to name a few highlights, one would definitely be recording with legend Peabo Bryson with his Academy/Oscar-Award Winning duet ‘Beauty and the Beast’. Such a beautiful soul just like his soulful voice. Thank you Peabo for this truly magical experience. We recorded together (not separately) with full orchestra!! A very rare opportunity that was as well, and one which fuelled something truly unique and inspired us in the moment.
Another would be my first contribution to a feature film. It was honour to sing both the Japanese and English theme song to the ‘Moomins and The Winter Wonderland’ puppet-animation film. I also have a small role at voice acting too in the Japanese version!! A furry not-so-little-red squirrel! (NB The English theme song ‘Bring The Snow’ is featured in my previous album ‘ANIMA’)

どの作品にも物語があります。特別に二つ述べるとしたら、あのレジェンド、ピーボ・ブライソンとのデュエット。アカデミー賞オスカー賞を受賞された「美女と野獣」の本家本元との奇跡のレコーディング！！私のANIMA Tour at 東京ブルーノートの前日に、同じ会場でなんとピーボの来日ライブがあり、これはご縁だと思い勇気を出してピーボに連絡。心もお声も暖かいピーボは彼のライブの当日の朝、一緒にいっせいのせいで生オーケストラと録音！ピーボ本人もオーケストラにびっくりされていて、ハリウッドではバーバラ・ストライザンドしかいないと、色々貴重なハリウッド話もして下さいました。生オケにお互い刺激され、ライブ感あふれるティクになりました。ディズニー・ピーボ・ブライソン マニアにはたまらないちょっとレアな作品に仕上がりました＾＾
